Well that was a questionable idea. I stumbled across a game on the playstore called Tiny Book Shop. It's quite addictive so far which means nothing else is getting done like reading actual real books, or even exercise like moving off the sofa. Only 5,700 steps today. Oops.

My son is 38 years old. He went to Corfu last week, his first time abroad and first time on a plane. He loved Greece, flying not so much. Tbf someone else travelling with them said that was the worst landing she's ever experienced.

I take it back. It's turned sunny this afternoon and quite roasting. Well 21 degrees is pretty hot for round here anyway.

Use your library they said. Use it or lose it. Virtually every single audio book our library has is out on loan. I've scrolled and scrolled and there is nothing available at all. And ebooks aren't much better. Use it or lose it? I'd say it's already lost!

My reward for ploughing my way through that 600 page book has just arrived by pure chance. I just popped on to GoodReads to log a book and a review for a book by one of my favourite authors jumped in front of my eyes. And it's on Netgalley. Anstey Harris writes the BEST books.

A 792 day streak on Kindle and I've missed yesterday. It's all that bloody tome's fault. Gutted. 😭 And another night with no sleep. 2.00am and here I am again wide awake. Something has to give. That bloody book can go for a start!

I'm now on page 437 of 588 pages. Never, EVER again will I invest that much time in a book that is quite obviously going nowhere, that in the end tells some flimsy tale that could have been told in half that number of bloody, sodding pages. Robbed of 14 or more evenings of my life! 😡

Wow, that was intense. BBC2 Emergency 24/7. Just watched it and feel like I've been dragged through a hedge myself. Amazing life saving care. I didn't think either one would make it. It's a brilliant documentary, I love it. So glad they both recovered.

A woman was rude to me on the train today, so I Googled the book she was reading and told her who the murderer was.

Surely that's more than 66% read. I'm so bored with this book but I can't give up when I've already waded through all those pages, all 400 of them....so far. 😢

I'm with Greg James. Summer isn't over yet! Stop saying it's autumn. Stop wishing us into the dark miserable days of November and December (and Jan, Feb, March and probs April). Remember for some of us summer weather lasts about 3 weeks, we ain't ALL got brown grass y'know.

I think I'm a bit done with historical fiction if I'm honest, the one I'm reading now is a bit of a slog at nearly 600 pages. So until Anita Frank or Natalie Fergie have a new book out, I'll stick with contemporary fiction.
