As a side project, I've been working on some mini #food #watercolor #illustrations, including this staple of #Louisiana cooking I've been working on my lettering in art, which has always been a weak point for me, and have had a lot of fun painting favorite foods.
Sometimes I think I should just do a series where I leave the underpinning as is- unfortunately for this one, it's a field test of Vibrinum watercolors and I need to put them thru their paces. I'll try to scan this piece at this stage though
I always thought those mini Tabasco bottles were so cute.
I finished this cheerful watercolor illustration yesterday! This was my fieldtest for my Sennelier review and I wanted to paint something sweet and colorful featuring common yard wildflowers. Violets are one of my favorite flowers- whats yours?
I first started the sketch for this during a St Charles Parish Council Meeting regarding setting a moratorium for AI Data centers.

I finished up Greenteeth last night and I really enjoyed it. Gentle fantasy with some unexpected twists and a familiar legend.

I won't be able to get back to painting this until later tonight, but starting on the dandelions.
I like to do paintings in a series of themes, and my current Sennelier fieldtest (left, partially painted) is part of a small series of floral illustrations that feature a tiny person surrounded by flowers. Middle is a Paul Rubens Botanical palette test, right is a Maimeri Blu test.

A little something that reminds me of home I've painted a few extra little watercolors this month for #worldwatercolormonth , aiming for something looser.
I always love getting into the minds of other creative people. So today I wrote an artblog post about WHY I create the art I create and what inspires me, full of beautiful photos of Louisiana www.patreon.com/Nattosoup/po...

Today's #WorldWatercolorMonth 's prompt is #plaid and I went with something simple- a big plaid bow in the Louisiana state flag colors.
A doberge cake is definitely an example of sedimentary, today's #WorldWatercolorMonth prompt. Layers of stale cake and pudding, often in lemon or chocolate, stacked tall. Lemon AND chocolate are also a thing, and that is just so Louisiana, I had to paint it.
