Anyway... Today marks 26 months of sobriety and continuous workout streak. I'm so glad of this progress, as it's one of the few things that helped me fight all this anxiety and insane self doubting.

A back view of Nazih standing in a room with orange and gray walls. They are flexing their shoulder and back muscles. They wear a black racerback tank top with the word CORENGTH printed vertically down the center of the back. Their hands are clasped together at the lower back above red athletic shorts. A dark bracelet is visible on their left wrist.A front view of the same person looking directly at the camera with a serious expression. They are flexing their left bicep and forearm. They wear a black tank top and red athletic shorts. An earbud is visible in their left ear and a dark textured bracelet is on their left wrist.

So Oliver is overanalyzing Pokopia and interrogating me about labor laws, asking me if there are mandatory rest periods for the Pokémon building these structures. Maybe je wants to file an OSHA complaint against a video game.

Oliver sits in a living room looking at a bright video game on a large television screen. The television rests on a dark metal and wood entertainment console. A large rustic wooden coffee table sits in the foreground a woven tissue box, a remote control, and several books. The video game displays a vibrant green landscape alongside a large pink character.

And here I was mending my own business, when @issaissa.bsky.social slid into my Instagram DMs, and asked if they could have a go at making our card designs better... And they just casually nailed it, never mentioning that they're an Arabic UX Designer. #indiegames #ALOM

"Arab unity has never been this petty, or this fun" We first built #ALoM cards as chaotic pencil sketches, then @issaissa.bsky.social upgraded it from clunky prototypes to full art versions with accessibility in mind... and to clearly see the disrespect before it ruins friendships. #indiegames

This Za'atar Union Trap embodies that Jagal street reputation: it triggers exactly on your opponent's defense to steal a card straight from their hand. We still have 100 cards and 5 Usloobs to reveal, but we gotta save some for later, but feast your eyes on all Shatara Usloob cards in one image.

A grid displaying 20 square comic book style illustrations of playing cards from the game The Arab League of Misfits. The artworks feature various comedic cultural scenarios, including a flying sandal, a glowing shisha pipe and more. The game's stylized logo is centered at the bottom over a solid black background.

🛵 Greets you by day and robs you by night. Meet Neighborhood Jagal, our final Shatara Usloob card reveal, based on Lebanese classic stereotype of street-smart show-off. The team is now shifting focus to preparing our Gamescom showcase build and a potential public Steam demo. #indiegame #ALoM

A square comic book style illustration of a confident Arab man with a thick black beard and aviator sunglasses sitting on a blue motor scooter. He wears an unbuttoned red patterned shirt and brown pants. He spins a key ring on his right index finger with Arabic text reading "وش!" to indicate a whooshing motion. The background features a yellow textured wall with torn paper flyers, a blue street sign reading "شارع الحمراء RUE HAMRA" in Arabic and English, and a dark wooden window shutter.

And our final card illustration reveal art for a while is here, one that enjoyed so much nailing the attitude of a very Lebanese specific local archetype. Now we get ready for our upcoming Gamescom trip, polishing the build so players can expect a public Steam demo in the future... Inshallah

"A soft plea that carries a heavy omen." Peak maternal drama treating a canceled lunch like an absolute catastrophe with "Ya Latif!". A card illustration featuring wonderful and authentic Palestinian tatreez from the archival work of Nabil Anani & Sliman Mansour via Tirazain. #indiegame #ALoM

A square comic book style illustration showing an older Arab woman wearing a dark red and black thobe with traditional Palestinian tatreez embroidery. She is reacting with extreme theatrical shock, holding her right hand to her chest with a gasping, wide-eyed expression. A jagged burst of glowing orange and yellow light radiates behind her to emphasize the drama. In her left hand, she holds a smartphone displaying a text message that reads "Mama habibti, I can't come to the family lunch today but pack me a tabarwer of your warak enab". The background features a muted domestic interior with framed pictures and a bookshelf, shaded with prominent halftone dot textures.

I designed this card by leaning into the classic television dramatics of regional maternal figures. Since it's themed after the Arabic diaspora, I integrated Tatreez patterns to credit the archival work of Nabil Anani and Sliman Mansour, preserved by the Tirazain initiative. #indiegame #ALoM

"Heard the talk, lost the translation." Unintelligible Dialect features Shahi al-Alla as a potion that induces caffeine jitters and hyper-local dialect fluency. Honestly, this thick, foamy brew might be the reason the rest of the Arab world struggles to keep up with Lybian slang. #indiegame #ALoM

A square comic book style illustration featuring a close-up of a traditional metal teapot pouring a dark stream of tea from a height into two small glass cups sitting on a brass tray. The cups are filled with dark tea topped with a thick, frothy beige foam. Around the vertical stream of poured tea, concentric oval sound ripples radiate outward, containing Arabic Libyan slang text reading "شن الدوة؟", "كنك؟", and "والله كساد".
