A critter I haven't seen in my back yard before. The closest match I can find for salamanders in this range is Ambystoma talpoideum, but I am skeptical of that identification. #herpetology

I trying to learn Portuguese. I am mostly learning how much Spanish I absorbed living in in California, because the Spanish words are almost completely wrong but seem *so close.*
If you are a woman in the United States, I strongly recommend you get a passport. In my state at least, RealID/StarID is not sufficient. And as deliberately as cruel as the process is, trans folk as well if your mental health is secure enough to handle it. Don't let your voice be silenced.
