As AI, deepfakes etc. become ubiquitous, people who may have stopped reading newspapers are going to get tired of trying to figure out what's real and go back to reliable sources of information that they don't have to second-guess. Outlets that don't paywall will be first in line for those eyes.

In case an agent finds me here, I've been favorably compared to Sir Terry Pratchett. A large chunk of high-functioning, introvert me wants to vomit at announcing this publicly, but in the immortal words of Prince, "You've got the horn so why don't you blow it?"

For those playing along at home, got my first pass on my three queries for literary representation. It's a gut punch. I know my worth, and I know there's someone out there who will also see it, I'm just not sure how to find them. Writers, please share your wins so I can buoy myself vicariously.

Scream/Se7en/Sliding Doors advanced screenings in college. Had no idea what I was in for. The Matrix advanced screening on the Warner Bros lot. Was sad that I had to wait months to see it again. Son in Law, because I told my date I'd put my arm around her when the Goo Goo Dolls song came on.

Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences? Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.

The hardest writing I do is querying. (And I have what I think to be a good query for at least a couple of my books.) Generally, I'd rather write another book than send out queries, but that's left me with a handful of finished books and no agent to help me get them out into the world.
