OK, so I just saw The Odyssey. It's epic and incredible in many ways and yet... I felt nothing. Not even excitement. It's so clinical, with entirely functional dialogue in that emotionless Tenet style, and even the set pieces seem flat (compared to, say, the tentpole moments in LOTR and GoT). 🤷‍♂️

01:00 feels quite a long time away. 03:00 even more so. 03:45 in a penalties scenario I'm 50/50 on staying up vs feeling human in tomorrow's Teams calls.

Thought BACKROOMS was bloody excellent. Incredible production design. Uncanny like Lynch. Abstract like CUBE. Of the internet but absolutely a movie. Go out to a big screen for it!

I'm not sure what this says about Keir Starmer's Britain but when I leave metal out the front, it's taking *weeks* for scrap metal people to appear out of nowhere and scoop it up.

Back to work after a few days of half term videogames, DIY and garage clearance. A lot to squeeze in now in 2 days before SXSW London next week, which I'm hoping to haunt.

This new Health app Google just pushed to my phone (replacing fitbit) is a triumph so far. The UI is great, the proactive AI coach is a game changer, and suddenly my smart watch feels actually useful. I absolutely LOVE it. (And want to make something like this for film; or APIs for others to do so)
