I noticed I refer to animals as “who” instead of “that,” despite knowing (and having taught) the rule that says “who/whom is for humans, and that/which is for non-humans.” However, animals deserve who/whom far more than most humans do, so grammar rules be damned (at least in this case)! 😜😅
