I had a lot of fun watching tonight's movie, and went in knowing only what was shared on the cover of the BluRay. Go watch The Hidden (1987) now. thenerdyisland.wordpress.com/2026/10/03/o...

Definitely not as artistic as last night's movie, and not the best, but still had an enjoyable time with tonight's movie. thenerdyisland.wordpress.com/2026/10/02/o...

Boy, the Oregon Governor debate last night.. 90% of what Drazan said was talking around answers and calling anything Kotek said, "rhetoric the divides us", while Kotek actually discussed facts. What a clown.

Just under the wire but today was really busy with a hole inspection tomorrow. October 1st's movie on the October Watchlist, is: thenerdyisland.wordpress.com/2026/10/01/o...

Actually. Yeah. I'm taking myself off the board. Later y'all. (Meaning I'm no longer going to use "social media", not commit suicide.)

It's been a month, and no word still from @playstation.com regarding the broken search function of the #PS3 PS Store. The fact this workaround works, and you can even finalize your purchase using the PS App?? Wtf Sony? Why lock us out from making these purchases on our phone all these years?

MC Wright@nerdyisland.bsky.social · 3w ago

Thank goodness for very specific hobbyists who can also code on the Internet that allowed me to grab the New-Goblin DLC for Spider-Man 3 (PS3) before the store shuts down. PlayStation broke the store (intentionally?) & refuses to acknowledge it. It's been weeks, and silence from @playstation.com

This game keeps on giving. I need a handprint to open a door, so I have to shoot a latch holding a sword on the wall so I can line up and manually pull back on the analog stick and then thrust it forward to chop off this security guards arm, so I can use his hand on the scanner.. #AloneintheDark

Okay. I've only just started. But Alone in the Dark: Inferno (2008), is amazing. youtu.be/Zo5d68BGkyw?...

Wonder when the last time I thought about "The Ultimate Stuntman" for the NES was... Damn that cover art was peak. #NES #CodeMasters #TheUltimateStuntman

So I'm not bugging anyone, I created a separate account for discussion around/posting links for new posts here. BUT I have started writing again, and video essays are also being planned. Give a follow if writing/video essays around mainly retro games without any bs interests you.

Seeing the comments how Sony messed up here is... Sony has been messing up a couple years now, but given everything around Physint, it's most likely budget related why they pulled out. Secondly, no, you don't have to give it to Xbox here. Blood money is still blood money. Do not support Xbox.

Wario64@wario64.bsky.social · 4w ago

Hideo Kojima says that Sony was going to cancel PHYSINT according to a notice in mid-June. Kojima teamed up with Xbox after searching for a new partner for 3 months

So equality for all unless you're trans..... WTF @equalityohio.bsky.social @hrc.org Boo these organizations, boooooooooo. Now fire those responsible and put people who ACTUALLY want equality for all in charge.

Equality Orgs are struggling to decide how to handle anti-transgender Democrats. Equality Ohio and HRC have endorsed anti-trans candidates, exposing fault lines over how equality orgs fight for trans people. They confirm they refuse to pull their endorsements. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Aside from a couple games that used "GenAI" in development(including Professor Layton unfortunately), and a couple SNK games, solid Nintendo Direct.

A recent study comparing the 50 states across 10 key indicators of work ethic and employment wants you to know which states are “hard working” or not.

.....wow. I can't believe Codemasters/MercurySteam pulled this shit in 2007. I'd say "proto-microtransactions", but this is just a more involved version of them and after MicroTransactions and DLC already existed. Why in the world did they do it this way? #PS3 #PlayStation3 #CliveBarkersJericho

Remember that "Realistic Mario" art from 10+ years ago? That's how I'm feeling looking at the Ocarina of Time remake. It's not for me. I hope people enjoy it and I'm sure it's a well crafted game, but it'd be clashing with my memories of the original and I don't love the artstyle.

I'll be watching the price announcement with MUCH anticipation.

Cancer, is an absolute, mother fucker. You can't tell someone five years is a lot longer than most are given, because five years is still a short amount of time. This sucks so much. So still thankful I got to meet Bruce during his "My Name is Bruce" roadshow. Hilarious, & genuinely lovely human.
