Organize your travel around passions instead of destinations. An itinerary based on obscure cheeses, or naval history, or jazz joints will lead to far more adventures, and memorable times than a grand tour of famous places. The point is to get away from the expected into the unexpected.#KKtraveltips

Thinkers50. I know several people on this years list and they deserve recognition. However I’m wondering why there is practically no one outside of North America and Europe? Is that geographical scope part of the strategy of the selection process? @thinkers50.com

I discovered early that it’s usually impossible for me to even find HOW INFRASTRUCTURE WORKS in a store without help, so there is zero secrecy and many delightful conversations with booksellers — every part of the interaction is lovely, and leaving them with signed books is such a win for everyone.

I assure you that when I sign books in an airport bookstore I am not secret about it - I both ask the bookseller if I may and then when I'm done I come here and tell people where to find the newly-signed book. I want people to find them!
