The National Education Union represents the majority of teachers and education professionals in the UK. It's time to #ValueEducation.

A change in direction must accompany the change in personnel. The NEU welcomes the appointment of Lucy Powell as the new Education Secretary, and looks forward to working together to fix the funding crisis in our schools.

Last week, we wrote to the education secretary declaring a trade dispute over the government's failure to fully fund pay awards. Andy Burnham’s government offers young people the hope of a fresh start. We look forward to seeing what change he can bring and stand ready for constructive talks.

After years of tireless campaigning by Kye and Nicole Gbangbola, the government has announced an independent inquiry into the death of their son, Zane. Seven-year-old Zane died in 2014 after contaminated floodwater from a toxic landfill site entered the basement of his family home.

🚀 Our snap poll is LIVE. Teachers and school leaders were left waiting for months while the government delayed publishing this year's School Teachers' Review Body (STRB) report and its response. Now the teacher pay award and funding has been announced, so we want to hear from you.

No NEU workplace rep in your school? Excessive workload is one of the daily realities of the funding crisis - and collective organising is how we fight back. With our upcoming ballot in October, strong workplace organising will be essential. Visit our toolkit👉 https://bit.ly/3OkJtcn
