C64 #Delphian progress: added an image for the cargo bay, so here's another WIP video clip. Thinking of updating the image with cargo canisters as the cargo bay fills up...

Prototyping/Programming games for retro machines. I also enjoy #pixelart. (Iapetus/Japetus(pronounced Yapetus) was a Titan in Greek/Roman myth.) 日本語が大好きだ。At the moment programming Zezito in the Glittering Caves for several retro machines. #forth
C64 #Delphian progress: I've created an interior image and I quite like it... so I hooked it into the game. Anyway, here's how the game looks at the moment.
🔊 Release v1.0 of Pyjamarama for Acorn Electron 48K (converted from ZX Spectrum 48K). Best experience is on a real Electron (with 16K SWRAM) or in my Electroniq emulator. ☕ Buy me a coffee if you like my work ko-fi.com/0xc0de 🕹️ More info and tape/disk images on github.com/0xC0DE6502/p...
More Electron coding, and this time we get going with Modes and Colours, looking at the 6 screen modes available on the Elk. Also look at some commands that help with coding too. Ooh… 😮 youtu.be/jCbp5qDm4l0 #acornelectron #retrocomputing #acorn

Skellywave (2026) by Optimus6128 for MS-DOS. A top-down maze where skeletons chase you, you shoot daggers and collect gems to reveal the exit — difficulty ramps until an empty room resets loop. Runs on an 8088 at 4.77MHz 🎁 optimus6128.itch.io/skellywave #homebrew #msdos #retro #game #skellywave
A cover of Knight Man from Mega Man 6, made in 2019. I consider this one to be one of my best Mega Man covers I have made on the POKEY, and I did make quite a few of them actually :3c
Someone over on StarDot just dug up an old topic I started FIVE years ago regarding my attempted port of Pooyan for the BBC Micro.... they're wondering what happened with it ! .....can't honestly remember ! 🤷
I made a bee game in 36 hours for DTJ36! 🐝 It's called... Bees Wax! (lol) 🧱 Place pieces of honeycomb 🐝 Get bees! 🌷 Place exits for the bees to get pollen 🍯 Honey!! Check it out here: lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=158322 Or find it directly in Pico-8 by running "load #beeswax"!
Two-player #BBCMicro Elite has just become the first game ever to support all the buttons on twin Delta 14B joysticks So two players can dogfight in Elite without either of them needing the keyboard For some of us, this is a dream come true! And it justifies all this hardware I keep buying... 😀
SoftSID 0.0.6 for the BBC Micro Added ability to specify the .sid file and track number on the command line. Many optimizations to bring the cycle count down too. Should be ready for a preview release soon once I've chased a few more cycles and relocated some more example SIDs. 🔊
ASCII Invaders (10-liner), an exercise in BBC BASIC code golfing. I enjoyed making stuff like this and should return to it one day. Inspect/edit the source code and play the game (Z,X,RETURN) via Owlet BBC BASIC Editor bbcmic.ro#%7B%22v%22%3...
Pyjamarama (WIP). Demo mode done. Next up: fireworks on the "win screen". For these 2 features I unpack and hide the data (scripts) in the upper part of the screen temporarily. Desperate times, desperate measures when it comes to available RAM 😅
Nuevo juego para #ZXSpectrum, un estupendo juego de golf muy divertido. @menyiques.bsky.social se lo ha currado a base de bien, y ver nuevos juegos deportivos es refrescante.

ZXGolf. The golf game your Spectrum deserved.

Pyjamarama (WIP). That's the Arcade Room (mini game) done! However, I may just rewrite this particular room in MODE4. That might give me a fighting chance for more speed and flicker-free sprites. At the moment the poor Elk is drawing twice the amount of sprite data as the Speccy 😫
Love this visualization of the 6502 instruction set. May you JMP for joy as you digest this ;) #retrocomputing #coding
SoftSID v0.02 for the BBC Micro This is a bit more like it. Upped the audio rate to 6.1 kHz to match the VIC-20 version. Also re-located the SID to &1100 which was the cause of the random hangs and inability to playback on the Model B due to a DFS clash. I need to relocate a different SID now 😊🔉
Just to prove to myself that playback of other SID files via the SoftSID, here's Plastic Pop by Danko 🔊
Missiles are now working in two-player #BBCMicro Elite. This clip shows player 1 firing a missile at player 2 (in the bottom view) and then player 2 retaliating (in both views). This was really difficult to build! But it's important; see the thread for details. #retrocomputing #retrogaming (1/3)
Just to close this one out... random colour palette, screen fades and the odd teapot. Source code at the link below for those interested. I'm sure it can be optimized and even implemented in a better way. github.com/NegativeChar...
Port of Pyjamarama to Acorn Electron (WIP). I have converted enough to be able to complete the game now. Working on the "you lose" and the "you win" screens, with nice chunky font. Screen mode split is still active but you won't notice it. Also, large boulder could be smoother but is good enough
Works on the Acorn Electron too. Just a little bit slower.
I haven't posted any demos for a long while, so here's a version of 2D Pipes in Mode 2 which works as quite a good screensaver for the BBC Micro. No music on this one as I waste 20kb just on the screen mode. No random teapots at the moment either. It might look better in Mode 1 with square pixels.
It's been 84 years, but we're cooking again! For y'all who wanted to build rustic villages, here's a sneak peek of upcoming wooden walls 👀

Port of Pyjamarama to Acorn Electron (WIP). Quick update while I'm busy coding all different actions/events/animations in the game. Let's make a few quick trips to the moon and back! 👾👾👾
