A kid in the supermarket just confessed to his mate his pin number is "6767" and nothing has made me want to turn to a life of crime more than that

If anyone is wondering when this drought will end, I've agreed to play cricket at 6pm this evening so I reckon the rain is coming around 5:58
I want to know how many men walked out of the Odyssey and the first thing they said was: "If I was stranded on an island with Charlize Theron I wouldn't coe home for 7 years either"
The Odyssey is just the journey you have to take home when there's been a crash on the M25
Where's the best place online for a teacher planner? Managed to get myself 2 last year (teacher and HoD) but cant worm it this year. Suggestions please!
Is it just me that thinks a private tutor emailing their clients teacher directly is a massive over step?
Needs to be a sign slapped up at the side of every road saying "you won't be early if you kill someone on the way" So many needlessly impatient drivers nowadays
It should be contractually agreed with your ITT provider that any teacher influencing attempts should not take place until after your safeguarding lecture
Some of these teacher podcasts are just glorified toxic staff rooms. Doing more harm than good for the profession
Just tried matcha for the first time. If anyone is curious, next time you make a cup of tea substitute your sugar with green food colouring, basically the same thing
Dadda son morning at the local farm today. They have an interesting take on a flat white
Irrational things that would get my vote if a politician promised them: - one singular app for parking - making it illegal for spouses to pick up and pay for Facebook marketplace purchases - a Vinted tsar who has to sign off and verify the condition of every item uploaded
16 years ago I ran the Great South Run for the QPR Tiger Cubs (football team for kids with Down Syndrome). I woke up one morning and my target had been smashed and my donations tripled, followed with an email saying "thanks for all your efforts, keep up the hard work. Best wishes Amit"
Liverpool owner in talks to sell stake to QPR co-owner Amit Bhatia
My neighbour came and asked about me using a hosepipe (household exemption) which I'd accept had my other neighbour (not exempt) not had one of these up in the front garden for his kids
I say this even as a parent: CostCo should be a child free environment
Did I see on the dark site that there is an ECT who has been promoted to Assistant Head in September?? Someone's applying for a job like a middle class white man
Can someone more privy with the SATs debacle back this up: 1. SATs results delayed 2. Arbor goes down 3. Portal is only open for primary schools only and secondary schools cant see data for new students 4. Portal crashes 5. Data can only be provided to secondary schools through their feeder schools
Somehow as staff and as a student my house colour has always been yellow. Would love one year to have a colour which doesn't attract all the bugs
If Norway were given that as a penalty I wouldn't complain...stonewall
Show me quantifable data that shows that underlining dates and titles improves outcomes and I'll do it but until then what is the point? (And don't say "to like back through your book as revision" because how many kids do that?"
Exercise books are so temptingly inspectable. You can flick through & feel you’ve seen learning. But full pages, neat titles, coloured pens and polished paragraphs are, at best, proxies. The more beautiful a book is often the less evidence of learning it provides. open.substack.com/pub/daviddid...
@adamboxereducation.bsky.social @amymayforrester.bsky.social is the podcast going to take a turn at some point of are spotifys recommendations way off?
Would love to see a @teachertapp.bsky.social question on how schools have adapted their uniform policies for staff and students in the heat. Tailored shorts have helped massively this week
Shout out to my school who have been providing students (and staff if your hands are sneaky enough) with free ice lollies at the end of each day this week (its activities week and most of ks3 are on residentials and year 2 10 on work experience)
As a teacher my favourite part of prom is watching the banned kids still rock up and watch their peers arrive. Like when contestants lost the final round of bullseye "Look at what you could've won"

If you ever think you're going to over the top for your child's birthday just take solace in the fact that you can't be as OTT as my wife ordering a farm to our house for my son's birthday today
