Connelly Early experienced forearm tightness in between innings of his live BP season in West Palm Beach this week, so Nats will be “ultra cautious” and wait to schedule his next outing. Blake Butera: “From what I’ve been told, it’s not super concerning.”

I think it’s a legit curse. Every reliever turns into garbage for this franchise. Mason Miller would get DFAd here. Felipe Rivero and Blake Treinen were hot garbage here and instantly dominated with their new teams.

So assuming Wood is out a while, the Nats have these OF options: - Recall Joey Wiemer, the only OF in the minors on the 40-man - Add Andrew Pinckney to the 40-man and promote - Move Abrams to OF and promote INF Cayden Wallace Wiemer is a road to nowhere for this team. Please not that.

The Nats topped out at a 93% WP after Nasim Nunez got to third with no outs in the 7th last night. So last night was the Nats' 13th loss of the season in which they had an 85% WP or better. Absolutely nuts.

Really nice of the Yankees to make Luis Garcia feel at home like this.

They really have perfect cover to move Abrams to CF now. I think he’s better off there than 2B. With the Franklin trade, Joey Wiemer is their only OF on the 40-man roster. Oof. They won’t do it though.

Now we won’t even get an MVP finalist out of this season. Just gonna be a frustrating 74-win season at the end of it.

James Wood hurt his left side on his last swing in the 6th. Going for an MRI tomorrow.

Just put Wood on the IL. He hasn’t looked right in a while. Abrams too while we’re at it. Abrams looks ready to post a .563 OPS the last two months. He’s given away almost every at-bat in the last week.

These dudes don’t make the other teams bullpen break a sweat late in games. Just automatic quick outs. Need to take a break from this shit for a while. The bullpen is so bad it made the best offense in baseball a chore to watch because you could never enjoy it knowing what was coming.

Just truly unacceptable. Embarrassing shit. There will never be a worse bullpen in the history of this fucking sport. You’re professionals. Stop being a bunch of fucking losers and show something. Fucking joke.

Just abysmal at-bats once this team loses a lead. Nothing but quit in this bunch. This will be their millionth consecutive loss in a close game.

Abrams and Wood are both absolute dogshit right now. Abrams looks depressed to still be here.

Derek Hill got cut by the shittiest of Nats teams ever and now he’s Willie Mays against them.

Would love to see the spreadsheet in the dugout that called for Tom Cosgrove in the biggest spot against two RHHs with Ribalta having warmed up earlier.

Every game against the Phillies is the same. Score runs early. Starting pitcher pitches well. Offense can’t add on to out it away. Bullpen lights game on fire. Offense goes into hibernation after Phillies tie or take lead. These dudes have zero balls. Total front runners.

Nats won’t get a single baserunner in the last two innings either. This is gonna be a really painful close to a once-promising season.

Paul Toboni doesn’t care about padding his MLB Pipeline top 30 list. I find that refreshing though most fans won’t like it. You don’t win that way. Very opposite of Rizzo in that he seeks volume he thinks he can develop.

The Cleveland Guardians are acquiring Foster Griffin from the Washington Nationals, sources tell ESPN.

Nats make another prospect-prospect trade. Christian Franklin to the O’s for RHP Joe Glassey, another reliever with massive K numbers in the minors. Interestingly, Franklin clears a 40-man spot. Wonder if that means anything.

I expected a much busier day for the Nats. Maybe it still will be, but seems like they’ll flip Griffin in the next 45 minutes and that’s it. I’d be disappointed by that.

According to Grant Paulsen, the Red Sox were "trying to move mountains to get CJ Abrams" today. Uhhh, based on what they gave up for Adley ... maybe we should have accepted the mountain they were offering?

Man, what a haul for the O's. The Red Sox are all in, it would appear. Weird wasting all that capital on Adley to me.
