I read the front matter of the dictionary. I remember it showed the evolution of the alphabet from Phoenician to English and was totally fascinated. I would go on to get a degree in linguistics, so, yeah.

Just finished 2 books where the plot was "everybody dies unless scientists do the impossible on a tight deadline". Picked up something else that turned out to be eldritch body horror. Whoever says I should put my phone down and read a book before bed must be reading different books
