32 Thoughts (Sept 10): Elliotte discusses the Shane Wright situation. Jason Botterill says he didn't promise him anything in regards to a trade. Wright's agent felt there was a promise made to move him. His name is definitely out there and there is still interest from teams.

32 Thoughts (Sept 10): Elliotte says Nikishin wanted a big contract but wonders if the Zeev Buium signing has changed things for him, if he wants an even bigger number now. He's heard NSH has been interested in him and mentions how they acquired some draft picks in trading away Evangelista.

32 Thoughts (Sept 10): Some notes on Connor Hellebuyck: • There were some things that happened last year with him that were out of the Jets' hands that have made the situation impossible to resolve. (1/4)

NHL Tonight (Sept 8): On Hellebuyck, Elliotte says some of the things that were available for trade at the draft are no longer available and that’s part of the hold up. Florida moved some of the pieces they would have traded to Winnipeg when they added Brady Tkachuk. (1/2)

Some notes from Nashville GM Chris MacFarland on the Luke Evangelista trade: • Nashville is very forward heavy and they have a lot of wingers in the organization. • Evangelista’s name came up in trade talks with New Jersey over the summer and those talks picked up again in recent weeks. (1/2)

The Sheet (Aug. 31): Marek wonders if Winnipeg gave Hellebuyck the option of signing his contract with the understanding that if things went wrong, they’d try to find him a new home. David Pagnotta believes that was the case, but doesn’t think either side expected it to happen this quickly. (1/2)

It makes sense why Connor Hellebuyck has made his trade demands public now. His full no move clause changes to a modified no trade clause on July 1, 2027 where he can submit 10 teams he can be traded to. He has complete control now and wants this done before that goes away.

My Top 5 stories heading into the season: #1 - Can anyone stop the Florida Panthers? They made the trade of the summer by adding Brady Tkachuk. They completely revamped their goaltending, upgraded their depth and should start the season with most of their injured players back in the lineup. (1/2)

32 Thoughts (Aug 25): Other notes... • Elliotte says he will be concerned if Quinn Hughes isn't signed by the start of the season. He doesn't think both sides have talked recently and wonders if Hughes and Cale Makar are waiting to see who signs first. (1/2)

32 Thoughts (Aug 25): Elliotte says Detroit started to interview GM candidates, internal and external, and that Jeff Greenberg of the Detroit Tigers is a name to watch. He believes the team made the choice to move on from Yzerman and that he didn't resign. (1/2)

My Top 5 stories heading into the season: #2 - How does the Dylan Larkin situation end? We all know Dylan Larkin has asked for a trade, but it doesn't seem like things have progressed in that direction. It's also being reported that he is expected to be at training camp in a few weeks. (1/2)

My Top 5 stories heading into the season: #3 - What big name player gets traded? Last year, Quinn Hughes got moved. The season before it was Mikko Rantanen, twice. Every season seems to bring at least one blockbuster that shakes up the NHL. So who’s next? (1/2)

Zach Werenski spoke to the media yesterday for the first time since vetoing a trade to DAL. He reiterated how he wants to win in CBJ and said he'd "have no issues being here for an even longer time" than his current contract. Do you think this ends the trade speculation around him this season?

The Sheet (Aug 11): Michael Russo says he thinks a contract extension gets done between Minnesota and Quinn Hughes. He says the landscape has changed last summer with Kaprizov and then again this summer but Hughes is loyal to Guerin. “Now it’s a true negotiation between both sides.”
