If UK had any sense they'd build a new airport next to Ashford International train station & downsize older airports. Connection to London via train is 35 minutes. Plus direct connection to Paris. Pollution impact would be minimised as rural site near coast. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

I like Liew, but this: "Whether Ceuta was an accidental security lapse or a deliberately engineered event is actually beside the point." is bonkers. No Jonathan, a weaponised hybrid war attack on Spain which cost 70 lives is not beside the point. If we cant face the truth of it, we cant solve it.

I'm not Corbyn's biggest fan but its grimly amusing watching the same members of Conservative Party go out to bat for someone jailed for antisemitic attacks/harrasment of Jewish politicians...who attacked Corbyn for supporting colleagues for far minor incidents. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Watching The West Wing Series 4 Episodes 15-16 Where President Bartlet & team wrestles with intervening in an ongoing genocide. The US finally decides to intervene when death figure reaches an unbearble figue. That death figure was 15 000. Felt like crying. Drunk 3 beers & went to bed at midnight.

There are actual clips of Abdul saying he's a capitalist. Abdul is basically center-Left. Wants medicare for all & stopping overseas military adventures/aid which dont serve the US. If you're a registered Democrat and disagree with that platform you share more in common with MAGA than liberalism.

I knew Rod Liddle a bit 80s/90s when we were younger. London-Media land was alot smaller then. I found him pleasant, liberal even a bit soft left. Met him again a few years later & his alcohol consumption took its toll. He had become a pissed old hack, a rent-a-quote idiot & a groper of women.

One thing both remainers & Leavers oft miss: The Brexit 2016 era is over. A generation has almost passed. 2016 seems painfully close to some people but for under 30s They literally dont care, many dont even even remember 2016. 10 million voters ready to vote rejoin. Who's going to convince them?

I sometimes wonder what Cadbury's founder - the Quaker John Cadbury a champion of temperance and opponent of "indulgent practices" - would have made of Cadbury's obssesion with marketing Cadbury Flake as "oral s*x in chocolate form".

...I think he’s also partially inspired by Denis Lavant’s nimble devil in Jonathan Glazer’s superb (rejected) Cadbury’s Flake advert... www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Uxn...
