Of all the words written about the impact of #streaming on music, these five from #Spotify founder Daniel Ek are the most telling imo - "Our only competitor is silence." So speaks the maker of an engagement machine that has no interest in #music or the people who make it.

On our trip around rural Ireland, much of my reading has been this. @fotoole.bsky.social is the very best of guides; his writing is always incisive but in this book it's frequently revelatory too. Fantastic.

Netflix often goes overboard in claims for its own productions, screaming that they're unmissable when they're really not. In the case of Legends though, all the hype and more is well deserved imo.
