I may have caused a commotion at Best Buy getting a computer monitor priced matched at $450 below MSRP but oh well I now finally am gaming above 60hz

Feeling the urge to mix things up on stream today so we're going to check out a new game: Truck-kun is Supporting Me from Another World?! Been seeing some positive buzz about it but I'm going in blind so let's see how it goes! I'm sure it'll be a good time. www.twitch.tv/alasindera

I used to work on a bunch of games, but I've always loved playing them. Hi! I'm glad you're here. I stream Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 6 PM EDT/3 PM PDT/10 PM UTC.

An enormous congratulations to each and every developer that worked with me on Strange Scaffold's very first driving game. (I'll tag them throughout the day.) This was one of the most challenging games that I've ever made, but I'm grateful for all of these talented devs for sticking the landing <3

Heartbroken for the amazingly talented and deeply creative people at Double Fine who have been doing nothing but participating in a trillion-dollar company's puppet show. I really hope Double Fine, everyone who work(s/ed) there, and the others studio Microsoft spun out into the dust find stability

The newly independent Double Fine is laying off staff today, three weeks after Xbox divested the studio as part of its massive restructuring.

Related to this, I've booted up Windows for the first time in a week since switching to Linux (it's a Destiny 2 raid night) and boy am I already missing an OS that doesn't yell at me to change my default browser, search engine, show ads in my task bar, and whatever else just to play a game.

A little over a week into this and Kagi really is a great solution to finding a tiny bit more peace of mind when using the internet on all of my devices lately. A search engine that puts quality results first is well worth $10 a month.

Something this industry has lost: You can be an enthusiast reporter while also keeping your story grounded standards of professional journalism. You don’t need to parrot what the company says and does publicly and pretty much just stop there.

Interesting that almost all analysis of Xbox in freefall completely ignores an organized boycott intended to harm the company financially. Meanwhile, multiple news stories on the home page all month about PlayStation boycotts that haven't even happened yet.

The material effectiveness of the BDS Xbox boycott shouldn't be a condition to be met to warrant reporting from outlets. We build trends from singular petulant reddit posts and report "insider" rumours without shame, the least anyone could do is *mention* an ongoing genocide.

Game Pass was supposed to be the all-you-can-play subscription service that put Xbox on top after a disastrous generation. Instead, it's a failure that's threatening to ruin the company. https://bit.ly/4pIIUau

After about 5 minutes into using a paid search engine, I am seeing the light of paying for a search engine (@kagi.com). Just clean and informative results. Very much appreciate @willsmith.fun & @vinnycaravella.bsky.social for talking about it on @techpod.content.town!
