this philosophy makes no sense. they deserve the rule of law because everyone does, dumbass! we're better than them!
Popehat@kenwhite.bsky.social · 2y agoI’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: an administration (and its supporters) who believe that they are not limited by the rule of law have no moral or philosophical claim to the protection of the rule of law. “The law is whatever we say it is” warrants the same in response.
classic shit 404 headline
Jason Koebler@jasonkoebler.bsky.social · 2d agoNew: I pulled the Character ai bankruptcy documents. They show: - They were spending $14 million/month on compute alone at a time their revenue was around ~$1 million/month - Currently losing $9 million a month - They admitted they enshittified & that it didnt work www.404media.co/character-ai...
the main reason ai works for software engineering and not other stuff is that software engineers are better at using the computer than other people
ceej@ceej.online · 3d agoI think it’s important for anyone who (completely understandably) checked out on AI the second the crypto/nft/metaverse/snake oil chuds started pushing it to realize that, in at least the domain of software development, we are very much living in a scenario where the snake oil actually works
this isn't even close to what Anthropic said, but it's fun to lie on the internet!!
Ben Collins@bencollins.bsky.social · 6d agoSam Altman said people are just gonna have to die in order to implement AI. In the very same week, Anthropic claimed it’s a human rights violation to be mean to the computer. These people need to be held accountable. They think lines of code are a person with rights but living people are debris.
used to subscribe to 404 but honestly they are too stupid and audience-captured. this is bozo stuff.
Jason Koebler@jasonkoebler.bsky.social · 2w agoi see arguments like this sometimes and ... what's the thing. what is this "everyday annoying task" that an AI could actually do and that you could trust it to not totally fuck up? i cannot imagine the things. and tech/robots have made a lot of tasks more efficient but there's always more shit
ok well my AI *will* be able to take HGH... we're not so different after all...
Kumail Nanjiani@kumail.bsky.social · 2w agoAI will never be able to make art. Thanks.
I understand the desire to not want to identify as English, but sorry, dumbass. you! are! English!
Adam Bienkov@adambienkov.bsky.social · 3w agoThe British right has now descended to the point where 'the England team are not English' is becoming the consensus position
bluesky needs to let me mute posts with specific words from specific users @bsky.app
that pilot that got shot down over Iran is a big time loser #60minutes
it would be premature to regulate the frontier ai labs, so far they haven't even proven they can exterminate 1 civilization. let's see if this is even a problem
people are dumb as hell. I gotta get off this site and do some mushrooms
you shouldn't say ai is gonna kill us all cause maybe an ai will train on ur post and decide killing us is what ai does you should just say ai will make puppies smile :)
I'll be impressed when an ai solves a millennium prize problem 😏 no, not like that 🫤
as far as I remember, the singularity is a term that means computers/ai become self-improving, certainly not that any specific intergalactic travel inventions will be created "in 2 years"
Robert Evans (the Only Robert Evans)@iwriteok.bsky.social · last mo.Jensen Huang just claimed the Singularity hit and we have achieved AGI. So two years from now, when we don't have fusion power and intergalactic travel etc because The Singularity is a fantasy, I assume everyone will admit they've been had.
yeah, imagine if people were pissed off at something important instead of this pointless data center stuff
helmets are bad because riding without a helmet makes me feel cool 👍
just got out of the woods, seeing a lot of bad posts from the past 3 days
they should take AI away from people that don't know how to use the computer
bonking cow on head with sledgehammer before slaughter for 1 day then working at grocery store for 40 years
Revan@revan.eurosky.social · 3mo agoEnough “what would you do on the commune questions” If you got sent back 100 years and were given your grandparent’s job, what are you doing?
