In full solidarity with disabled people and our disability organisations and advocates who are calling out Winston Peters for disgraceful behaviour and language, When will we stop 🛑 feeling entitled to denigrate disabled people and feel outraged when called out over it??

I'm sad to learn of the death of Bronwyn Elizabeth Hayward ONZM. I was proud to share a name with such a fabulous NZ disability advocate, dancer, trail blazing TV writer & presenter & community advocate. “If you can Breathe you can dance” She made the world better. My love to her family & friends

We have found it difficult to deliver subsided rents through IRRS for public housing, and in one day this guy delivers a rent freeze for hundreds of thousands of low income NY’ers That’s big change, he’ll lock in a 2nd term off the back of this decision alone, if that was ever in doubt!!

States have been told not to send transmissions to state EBT vendors by end of October. This means SNAP benefits would not be distributed to anyone who qualifies. I know my state and many others are reaching out for further guidance. This would send 40+ million Americans into food insecurity.

The Minister of Finance and the Treasury released its Half Year Economic and Fiscal Update today, and with it – its ‘plan’ for the Budget in 2025 in the Budget Policy Statement. The indicators show very clearly that it’s not working for anyone. A long thread (apologies) #nzpol
