It's #Emmy night! While I love TV, I'm not terribly excited about tonight's festivities because I found the list of nominees to be ehhhh...uninspired. Nevertheless, here's the list no one asked for or cares about, but for my own neurosis, my favorites of the last year, more or less in order:

Since the second largest Ebola outbreak on record is currently happening, I recommend reading No One's Coming by Kevin Hazzard. Heart-pounding, funny, moving in its depiction of how brave people can be in the face of death, a timely exploration of what we owe to each other, and frankly, a fun read.

Whatever kind of year Salvy's having overall, he always will be a great player and a quality person, and I think it's fitting that he holds the record for most homeruns by a Royal. I have sincerely loved watching him play all these years.
Every time I try to fix something in this janky ass house, I watch a little video, get all my little tools together, and then discover something completely incomprehensible because turns out the last person to "repair" it was one of my mother's idiot brothers or brothers-in-law. 😤
