Front End Developer. I like to post terrible UX and a11y I find on websites.

This is my new worst ever cookie consent. I thought this list was long but got to the bottom and discovered it’s multiple pages. The list is in alphabetical order, so page 1 is on B, page 2 it’s only on F. Ace of course there’s no way reject all.

A page of cookie options from partners. The scroll button on is pretty small, so it’s clear this is a long list. It ends with a next button to get a new page of partners to reject.

This is the worst cookie pop-up because it rates so long to turn everything off. Making it a tiny height doesn’t help. #ux

A cookie pop-up that’s less than half the height of the screen, so you can only see two lines of text.

Why does the confirm email address box let me enter multiple lines? And of course the email address input is text, so if I was on a mobile I'd have to hunt for the @ key. #ux

A form with email address, as an input, and confirm email address as a textbox.

This menu is confusing. It turns out you can't even click on the More options. So there are more options but I don't get to see them? I don't get it. #ux

A menu with two options. The first has an X and says More options. The second has a speech bubble and says Send Feedback

I can tell which bin it is this week because I can see the word grey, but it would be nice to see the rest of the text too. #ux

This is a page on a website to find out which bins are being collected this week. Unfortunately the information is too wide for the screen, so there's a horizontal scrollbar and you can just see the very left edge of the text, but the rest is off the right side of the screen. Scrolling to get it on screen just takes you to next week.

This website is terrible. You have to scroll horizontally to get to the account details in the top right. And if I maximise my browser window then I have two vertical scroll bars. #ux

A website with content cut off on the right and a horizontal scrollbar. The same website maximised. No horizontal scroll bar any more, but two vertical scroll bars instead!

But you said I could enter my postcode or town name. (I did originally get this with my town name, but put London for the screenshot, which it also complained about) #ux

Prompt says: Please enter your postcode or town name to check stock and review your trolley before checkout.

Input says: london

Error message says: Is this definitely the right postcode?

I've been attempting to read text on my county library's website and wondering why it's so tiny. Turns out it's been hard coded to be 15px, but on my computer 18px is a readable size. I feel like not using px for font sizing has been pretty basic for years, why is it so hard? #ux

I'd like to be able to use this website, but there's an overlay over the whole thing, so I can't click on anything, not even the cookie preferences. #ux

A website that's all a bit grey. You can see the mouse pointer over the cookie reject button, but it's an arrow.

Thanks, US Open app for making the worst cookie popup even harder to scroll through and turn everything off (the harder places make it to decline the cookies the more determined I am to decline them). #ux

A cookie popup that requires you to scroll through the whole thing to decline each option, but it only takes up half the vertical space on a mobile screen.

PayPal's UX for sending money is so awful it's taken me days to discover, by accident, how to put the amount in. I didn't even realise it was an input and when I did I couldn't work out how to delete the amount already in there. Turns out you just type.

What looks just like a number display. Although the cursor at the end tells you it's an input. But looks like it's at the end of the inputted number. Which you then can't delete.

Massive fail on this site: although I have reduced motion turned on, the ticker keeps moving. And it moves so fast I can't even read what it says! The only way I know that it says the same thing is because it was still while the page loaded. Which begs the question, why does it need to move? #a11y

I did want to get to these menu items, but I don't know how to (I tried the keyboard, but there were no focus states and the menu never seemed to open at any point)

There is a link after this text that says "Click here to login" it's just in a very dark colour on black.

Black box with white text inside that says "Returning customer". After that is what looks like a blank space.

I assume there are some buttons so I can close this pop-up and actually use the site, but I can’t scroll to them

A cookie pop-up with buttons below the bottom of the screen (presumably)
