Many were those who had attempted to reforge the Corona Radiata before. It is not merely a matter of blood and sacrifice - it demands a degree of corruption of the soul that no sane human would ever willingly court.

As the apparent supernatural invasion of the world unfolded, many turned to religion and to every imaginable form of spirituality, offering prayers and pledges. The answer? The Umbras continued to sweep aside people and nations as beasts might swat at small, irritating flies.

The Watchful Angel offered many rooms and spaces for study and discovery. Dilettantes were not welcome here, for within these walls they were neither alone nor safe.

Many gathered around the fireplace to speak of what was unfolding across the world - of those ghostly entities invading squares and hospitals, prisons… and even the sanctity of your own living room.
