I play videogames (mostly Nintendo). I also draw stuff (mostly Nintendo). Proud dad to two Small Fries. Webmaster of nindb.net and former comic artist on Nintendo Force magazine. Not a former astronaut.
Glad to see the NF crew still rocking these kickstarter campaigns. I've backed the project!

If there was one chimp in the forest who kept hoarding all the nuts, the other chimps wouldn't sit around talking about market realities affecting the nut supply, they'd go and batter fuck out of him with sticks
*Gets a notification* A new Nintendo Direct?! Tomorrow?! But I'm on holiday and the internet is bad! Oh woe is me!! *Taps to expand the full notification message...* Oh, it's just a Fire Emblem Direct. That's fine.
Okay, so Eric isn't the best of the Discworld novels. In fact, there's some *opinions* which are very un-Pratchett-like. A little mean-spirited, not very long, not particularly coherent... Onwards and upwards!
I'm spitting blood that an episode of the kids' latest favourite series "Ada Twist, Scientist" has an episode dedicated to writing stories with AI, where the AI is just a friendly plagiarism machine that everyone coos over for its great ideas.
Took my time, but I finished re-reading Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett. Absolutely still one of my favourites. It's not just the origin of the Watch, but also feels like a turning point for the characters of the Patrician and even Ankh-Morpork itself. Glorious.
i think people who act like old games are inherently "tough to go back to" are simply weak
Officially on holiday. I can see the Atlantic Ocean out of the window. Hopefully you won't hear much of me for the next week.
When I last went bird watching, I refused to look at the herons. I have no egrets.
And 1-2-Switch, Arms, Snipperclips, Labo, Sushi Striker, Ring Fit Adventure, Game Maker Garage, Drag x Drive....
This is BoxBoy erasure and I will not stand for it.

Splatoon shouldn't be the only fresh Nintendo franchise in 15 years
Ooh! Virtual Boy on the Nintendo Music app! Release dates for G-Zero and Dragon Hopper!! Nintendo is having a Virtual Boy kinda day!
my theory: I don’t think these were ever for sale or intended for sale. I think Nintendo manufactured these in 1993 to have “stock-on-hand” to replace broken SMB/Duck Hunt carts, and that they were sent to the smelter once NES support wound down (August 14, 1995). The timeline lines up nicely.
Pretty crazy stuff if you haven't seen it - a game store owner had a box of Super Mario/Duck Hunt carts that turned out to be - brand new - manufactured in 1993 (!) - an extremely late variant unknown to collectors nintendowire.com/news/2026/07...

We discovered a new variant of Super Mario Bros.
Inside, were 97 individually wrapped, brand-new copies of Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt. Each game was wrapped in the same baggie that would have come in an

Just had my first real experience of skimming CVs for keywords because I'm too busy to read them in detail. I feel like such a tool right now!
I only remember the first level of a bunch of Amiga/ST games, and I have no idea if I was just really bad at them, or if I only ever had a cover disk demo.
I see the memo is finally going around. ICYMI: boycott warmongering Nazi Palmer Luckey's ModRetro. Pass it on to anyone who hasn't heard.
These are ALL my Game Boy. But it was the SP that let me play the entire library AND it was comfortable to use and the clamshell design was properly cool.
It's NATIONAL GAMING HAND-HELD DAY! What, you didn't know?? Of course you didn't, because I just made it up! But I've declared it now, so just lean into it. Of the six main model releases of the Nintendo Game Boy, what's the one you have the most fondness for? Which one is 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙍 Game Boy?
I got an "according to ChatGPT" at work the other day. They didn't particularly like it when I said it disagrees with our tracking analytics, specialised crawlers or... my own lived experience.
Oooh this is top of my list of UI peeves that you STILL regularly find in supposedly professional products.

He's called Apocalypse because of those big blue smoochable lips. 😘
