If you're thinking of writing sapphic romance, take a look at this. Write what you want, but note that readers are looking for ice queen and fake dating, but not so many being written. So if you're choosing between ideas... And there seems to be a void for sapphic medical romance...

We coded 517 sapphic romances for 35 tropes. Most common: slow burn (33.8%), found family (32.7%), age gap (28.4%). But readers' #1 and #2 favourite tropes, ice queen and fake dating, show up in fewer than 1 in 10 books. A thread on what we found:

Just sent a rather snarky note to Discord after discovering (I never check these things) that their only official social media account, which is the only way to report outages, is on X. Seriously? Only having an account on one platform is bad for a large company anyway (platforms crash, after all)

Okay, so...I post this every now and then. If an independent author you like is saying they don't have money for groceries/editing/a conference/whatever and need it quickly and you decide to buy their next book to help them out: Unless they're exclusive to Amazon, don't buy from Amazon. Why?

Pro tip for panel moderators. If both of your panelists are speaking through an interpreter, sit at the end. That way when you're fighting not to look at the interpreter, nobody will notice... (He was doing very well, it was just the occasional twitch).

Usually, I dread this day for an entire week. This year, walking to the store, "Why is the road closed outside the fire station for an event on a Friday? Oh...right." I think I may finally be as far over the mild trauma I have from that day as I ever will be.
