I invested in a Nova licence now that it has LSP support, to try and detach myself from VSCode, and I feel so mixed about it The UI is incredibly slick, but I keep running into gaps in the Vim mode and it's very disorienting

causing minor psychic damage to myself by looking at all the ChatGPT slop posters I see while walking around Glasgow the text overlaid on brush strokes… the repetitive shite slogans… the horizontal lists of four features with icons and dividing lines it's so bad but i'm also kind of fascinated

getting validation from the woman who got on the train, sat nearby, and paused her chat with her friends to look over at me and go "excuse me, I love your mohawk" she then unloaded from her bag: a bottle of off-brand Smirnoff, a bottle of wine, Buldak noodles and an electric toothbrush

there's a screen mounted on the wall in the pharmacy showing a feed from the security camera it looked kind of weird then i noticed the timestamp: it was frozen in time at 1am on the 20th July

last night's weird dream: I was walking through a town when somebody tried to steal my phone I bit him to try and buy some time for me to escape, and it ended up giving him a Gay Awakening and then I started flirting with him ¿¿I don't even know how to flirt??

somehow i've built up enough rizz at work that they're letting me restore an internal build of our main game from 2007 and showcase it at $upcoming_event, so attendees can see a bunch of unreleased content it's kind of strange to be paid to do the type of code archaeology i'd normally do for fun

How my ADHD is going: The pharmacy texted me that my prescription was ready on Tuesday morning I realised today, 30 minutes after they'd closed, that I've forgotten to pick it up for the 4th day in a row

at some point i need to get new glasses to replace this pair where the arms are literally degrading but the petulant child in me is loathe to go back to Specsavers after they have sent me spam email, texts *and* a physical letter in the last week alone

yesterday I discovered three things about the Deutsche Bahn website: 1. they will ban you for suspicious behaviour if you make more than like 4 searches 2. you can bypass this by opening a private browsing window 3. the ban page is only in German, so if you get banned in English, you just get a 404

i recently learned that the baseball caps i see everywhere with the "NY" emblem are actually a sports team and now i'm noticing them all the time. i've seen at least six in Glasgow today

awkwardly shaking the lumpy pillows that I bought from Watt Brothers (a now-defunct local department store) almost a decade ago, I think, "maybe I should invest in nice bedding some day" then i realise that it would be wasted on this Landlord Special bed and mattress that's probably as old as me

I used to live in Gibraltar, where if you wanted to receive British satellite TV, you needed a fairly big dish pointed at the right spot in the sky Meanwhile in the UK proper, I constantly see tiny dishes just mounted in the silliest ways and it keeps on making me laugh

a tiny oval satellite dish mounted on a tiny metal pole in someone’s front yard, pointing straight out into the street

I've been so productive today… I went out on a long walk, got slightly sunburnt, posted a thirst trap online, cleaned my room, *and* made an unhinged high-effort shitpost

HOT TAKE: Many of the things we call "drive-thrus" should actually be referred to as "drive-bys". Please find my scientific evidence attached. Thank you for your understanding

a diagram that uses three crudely handmade 3D renders of a fictional restaurant called “Burger Monarch”.

the first has a drive-thru made out of a tunnel through the building.
“This is a drive-thru. Your car is entering the building through one side, and leaving through the other. QED.”

the second has a canopy attached to the side of the building, with a car underneath it.
“This is a drive-thru. Your car is passing through a structure that’s attached to the building. I think that’s close enough to count.”

the third just has a window on the side of the building, with a car parked next to it.
“This is NOT a drive-thru. Your car is never enclosed at any point within this ordering process. I think this should actually be called a drive-by.”
