From TechnoEdge’s Hidetaka Miyazaki interview. Q: Will there be any integration btw [Duskbloods] and Switch 2’s unique features, such as portability, camera, and Amiibo? A: I think we’ll have some small features planned, but I can’t comment on them at the moment. Sorry.

On a new Nintendo Careers page, a Project Manager shared how they managed global collaboration for the “View/Change Controls” feature in NSO Classics, with teams in America, Europe, and Asia (probably PTD, NERD, and iQue). One tool that they use is GameChat, for checking the online play together.
Nintendo’s prudent decision to use Samsung’s 8nm node for the Switch 2 SoC (Nvidia T239) has given them a buffer as component costs continue to rise, but that is about to change. Reuters reports that in July Samsung raised 8nm prices “by nearly 10%” for new orders. 1/
Aside from some rare, unusual cases, trademark renewals isn’t news. What is Nintendo supposed to do—NOT renewing their trademarks? Also note that Mike Odyssey wrote “NEW/UPDATE” instead of simply renewal. It’s crystal clear that he didn’t even bother to check the application before tweeting.

Famitsu also published a dev interview for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. One fact I’d like to highlight: The team spent at the minimum a month developing *one* creature; Chapter 6 Remote Isle alone took three years. www.famitsu.com/article/2026...

The Duskbloods network test switches my monitor to 120Hz. It outputs at 1080p with HDR (img 1), and 1440p without (img 2). At the moment it’s unclear whether the game will actually support 120 fps. I suspect that it might run at 40 fps.

Japan Console Gaming Habits: Physical vs. Digital and Genre Trends
A Cross Marketing survey of 1,200 Japanese console gamers finds equal support for physical and digital, Mario Kart succeeding across demographics, and teens favoring sandbox over turn-based RPGs.

From Circana's Q2 Future of Video Games Consumer Survey: 26% of US console players indicate they buy mostly physical games (when available) with 39% buying a balanced mix between physical and digital. Were digital games priced $10 below their physical counterparts, 59% would buy more digital.
Right from the start the decision to provide only 3 free mini-games was glaringly inadequate. Instead of just adding more free mini-games, I think that they should rotate the free ones over time to entice continuing engagements, and offer a discount after a certain number of plays.
[Pictonico] Nintendo has announced an event where 10 minigames have been unlocked for free until Sep 15 (Japan time). Normally, you can only play 3 for free. To unlock the rest, you would need to purchase a pack of 50 (US$7.99) and/or a pack of 30 (US$5.99). 🐦 original post
In Mario Kart World, lighting can change quickly due to the time of day and terrain features such as a tunnel. The game dynamically corrects luminance to reduce washed-out highlights and crushed shadows. 1. Placing a number of light probes in virtual space 2. Casting rays from user’s gaze point 1/
So Diablo IV is going to be code-in-a-box. If CIAB is more expensive than Game Key-Card as “leaked” by Nash Weedle, why would any publishers choose it? He also said that a 16GB GKC is only $1 cheaper than a 16GB Game Card. Anyone observing publisher actions can tell that his drivel is not real.

The price of the official microSD Express Card 256GB has increased ¥2000 to ¥8980 in Japan (+29%; img below). Before any grifters begin screeching “greedy Nintendo!i!”, keep in mind that a) it now matches the US price, and b) Nintendo’s been singlehandedly anchoring the Express card market. 1/
The following shoulder button patent application was published last August by WIPO/JPO, but recently republished by EPO. Since it could be used for misinformation, I’ll cover it here even though it’s not new: Image below shows a shoulder button (411). Depending on how user’s finger presses it … 1/
This was prophesied in the NSO Missions & Rewards patent, but I arrogantly dismissed it as an unserious example: “physical objects including various goods such as stuffed toys may be set as rewards” I also thought the wallpaper reward wouldn’t have been implemented. Two Ls for one patent. 😂

GVG and @jon.gvg.io asked an important question: Will the new EU packaging regulation (PPWR) force the Game Card packaging to change by 2030? I’ll sidestep few imprecise points conveyed in the video, and attempt to answer the question below. youtu.be/t9bl1BxqsQg 1/

Switch 1 still seems to feature prominently in Nintendo’s plan for Indonesia. Its more accessible price and extensive game catalog could play an important role in the “Other” market. • Btw FY25 and FY26, sales of NS1 dropped 66.3% in Japan + Americas + Europe, but 52.3% in Other (img below) 1/
Nintendo filed the ACNH Resort Hotel trademark in Japan on July 22, and wasted no time to introduce the Hotel merch Sources x.com/N_Officialst... www.j-platpat.inpit.go.jp/c1801/TR/JP-...
The reason that Nintendo partners with Salim Group to enter Indonesia is simple: growth (img below). Their sales in the “other” region has been increasing in the Switch era—despite the setback in China—while the shares of Japanese and European markets slowly decline. 1/
A couple interesting points from the Nintendo Indonesia presser: • Buying a Switch 1 or 2 will get you a free copy of Let’s Go Pikachu. Does it mean a Switch 2 update (not NS2E) for the game? • No Indonesian eShop yet, but Pokopia will be available. This proves that GKC doesn’t require eShop.
So the packaging of the Zelda Edition is already up for sell in China. LOL. The gradient green on the Pro Controller 2 and the dock’s gold finish even behind the back cover indicate that this is high effort. Nintendo must be confident in their sales potential, since they are making a ton of them.
Foxconn Revenue Spike Hints at Switch 2 Zelda Edition
Foxconn’s July 2026 revenue hit a historic high, suggesting a major Switch 2 production run—possibly an Ocarina of Time Edition to stimulate sales post price hike.

Regardless the reports of dominant digital sales ratio for Square Enix, Capcom, and other companies, the question not answered by the numbers is what the consumers would buy *when given a choice*. Many games are simply unavailable on physical media. Here’s what the ratio looks like for Switch … 1/
Counterfeit Joy-Con 2 has been a thing since last year, but I just saw its innards for the first time. The board and components actually look pretty decent. Having a rotary motor (instead of linear actuator) but no mouse sense is a dead giveaway though. Source: xhslink.cn/o/9WpbR6wO4c5
Let’s check in on the Game Card suppliers’ financial reports. MegaChips (メガチップス): After years of sales decline (img 1), its Apr-Jun sales grew 56% YoY, mostly bc of the “amusement business” (i.e., Game Card biz; img 2)—suggesting that it’s finally shipping Switch 2 Game Cards after a long delay. 1/

In the span of only two days, Nintendo has been accused of murdering an employee and losing its soul. And people made fun of the company for creating the Nintendo Today app. Isn’t the rationale painfully obvious?
Warning: highly speculative I was somewhat skeptical of the Switch 2 Ocarina of Time Edition rumor, but now I think it may be real and even be rolling off the assembly lines. Here’s why: In July, the Switch assembler Foxconn Technology Co. saw their revenue soared to NT$21.4B (img below), … 1/
