In Super Mario Maker 2, failing the matching game in the World Maker will cause Mario's mismatched creation to emerge from the door, making him slowly back away in fear or disgust. Below are all the possible abominations Mario can create.

In the World Maker mode of Super Mario Maker 2, the Match & Win! minigame is directly based on the Spade Panel game from Super Mario Bros. 3.
If Mario fails to match all three reels to create a picture of a single power-up, he will wait in front of the house...
...whereupon the mismatched object he created will emerge from the door. Mario will back off, seemingly in fear or disgust.

In Slipsand Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy 2, there is an unexplained and out-of-place yellow flash during a Launch Star flight. This is because Mario actually flies through a fog area belonging to a planetoid from a different mission, and the very brief fog looks like a flash.

The only thing that could pacify you right now? Unlocking the Kiddy Kong statue in Donkey Kong Bananza. Bobbing for Baubles, a week-long Emerald Rush event that rewards players with a DK Coin statue and Kiddy statue back on DK Island, is now live! And in three weeks, get ready for a Lagoon Dash!

I feel like you can even see remnants of Dragon Hopper in the early UI for Paper Mario 64 (back when it was called Super Mario RPG 2) with the hearts and FP being displayed individually (rather than as a numerical value) as well as a square slot that displays your attack/ability.

So it turns out that Ryota Kawade, director of the first three Paper Mario games, directed Dragon Hopper. Not only was this the first game that he directed but also the ONLY game he directed outside of the Paper Mario series.

In the Donkey Kong Country tv show, Baby Kong appears as a baby version of DK after he accidentaly drinks one of Cranky's potions. In a later episode he's a completely separate entity coexisting with Donkey Kong, while still being the same character somehow

In World 8-7 of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, releasing a mushroom on the third Spine Coaster but not collecting it results in an entertaining interaction whereby the Spine Coaster will balance the mushroom on its nose, like a seal trained to balance a ball.

The only three mushroom treasures in the series are the Toxic Toadstool, Growshroom, and the Anti-hiccup Fungus, all of which being from Pikmin 2. Despite all the fruits and vegetables, and even other food items, no game past 2 has any mushroom treasures. I just think that’s odd

Unpopular opinion, I freakin loved the Wii U. My mom told me I couldn't have both a portable and a home console, so I MADE my Wii U my portable console. Carried that thing around in a tote bag wherever I went. Sat in the empty gym after school and played Sonic racing on the gamepad. It was awesome.

In Mario Kart: Double Dash, shadows in the environment do not follow any kind of lighting logic and appear to have been placed solely based on "vibe". This results in shadows being cast in nearly every possible direction at the same time.

A picture of Dry Dry Desert from Mario Kart: Double Dash with shadows marked. The shadows go in a variety of different directions at different points in the map despite there being only one light source.
