Big on baseball, Notre Dame, music, peanut M&Ms. I should read more books. And probably eat less cheese.
I'm always happy to talk Springsteen ...
Just posted a @twibhistory.bsky.social episode, sans Mike, in which I interview @adarowski.bsky.social and @njbaseball.bsky.social about their excellent #SABR54 topics: thisweekinbaseballhistory.libsyn.com/adam-darowsk... Adam's poster is available in the quoted post below.

Sad to hear that Butch Huskey has passed away at age 54. He played for 7 seasons with 5 teams, had a lifetime .267 batting average with 86 homers, including 2 20+ seasons. He wore #42 as a way to honor Jackie Robinson, before MLB retired the number. www.mlb.com/news/butch-h...
Saw 35 minutes of The Young and the Restless at the gym today and there was only one scene where anybody was moving around. Every other scene was people sitting at a table or on couches & chairs, talking. No wonder they're so restless.

Could definitely tell from their smiles.
Fwiw I talked to five players this afternoon, four of them first-time All-Stars, and every single one of them thought all the non-Phillies getting booed was funny and took it in the spirit in which it was intended. I really, really, really don't think anyone's getting their feelings hurt here.
I think he's from somewhere near the Philly area, but not sure.
Mike Trout, swinging first pitch to lead off a Philly All-Star Game. Just like in the backyard.
They better hope Nic Cage doesn't come steal that declaration the starters are all signing.

We went to this event last year, and it's a blast! My only critique about the article is that it didn't mention the Pumpkin Drop, when they hoist a giant gourd up several stories with a crane and drop it onto a field behind a school. (Unless it was nixed this year.) www.nytimes.com/2025/10/25/s...

This might be the most amazing Denver baseball thing I've ever come across online. Bob Burris, son of longtime Denver Bears CEO Jim, has a podcast and fairly new social media presence. Back in June, he posted audio of Satchel Paige on a Bears radio broadcast in 1977 at Mile High Stadium.
