This just sort of seems like a skill issue to me. I found and joined my local dem party with like 3 minutes of googling last year when Rs won my local council. They do shit like twice a month. I got asked my opinion of my town's situation on literally the first meeting I could attend in person.

There's nothing to "join" in the Democratic Party. It's a brand with products I spend my vote on once a year at the democracy store. Most people's experience of it is an endless stream of texts that read like scams, their reward for donating or signing a petition. No wonder DSA is growing

This is all part of my overarching thesis that meetings are for getting people to take action either in the meeting or in the following ~2 hours, and if you can't identify what you want people to do in that time you should reconsider whether you really need to be having this meeting.

A side thought as I'm bitching about powerpoints: 95% of PPTs should never have a 'Thank You' slide at the end. The point of assembling people to listen to you present it to GET THEM TO DO SHIT FOR YOU. You should end on Next Steps so they leave remembering what they should do right away.

God save me from graphic designers making powerpoint templates for business use. For any designer out there doing this, a litany of shit not to do:

I feel like it's to his credit that basically every time I see a camera pointed at Ossoff he seems to be saying some variation of "Trump is crazy, and he's losing a war we don't need while our economy craters" like it's the only line they recorded for his pullstring.

As far as I can tell there’s still a thunderstorm expected to happen in the next couple of hours in Washington DC but Trump has decided that he must give his speech and so has told them to reopen the grounds so people can be outside in a thunderstorm during his speech.

Has any character ever been played as consistently well by multiple actresses across multiple poor to middling films as Supergirl?

There's a really good movie in Supergirl dying to get out. But a goofy villain, a Lobo that's both shoehorned in and underused, and Gillespie's maddeningly terrible choices (basically every needle drop in the movie) throttle it every time it starts getting momentum.

I'm an MBA and fully bought into the whole capitalist schtick, but we should absolutely treat capitalism like dynamite, an incredibly useful, incredibly powerful (for good and bad) tool that we should lock down with enough regulations that it won't blow us all up.

As I get older I find myself getting both more lenient and more draconian in my criminal justice views. I increasingly feel like we should use more mercy with crimes of desperation or passion, e.g. theft when destitute, drug use, etc.

This week someone targeted my family for harm with a false report. We’re physically OK, but that doesn’t mean we weren’t harmed. I am beyond furious. Whatever your politics, this is awful, wrong, and can never become normal.

Honestly, didn't see that coming. I tend not to feel represented by the 'progressive' label (I usually describe myself as liberal), and I've never been partial to the DSA. But I guess I can see it.
