The National Network for Equitable Library Service (NNELS) is a collection of alternate format materials for readers with print disabilities in Canada. Our services are freely available to readers with print disabilities through Canadian libraries.

Today is World Mental Health Day, and at NNELS, we believe books can help us understand, connect, and support our mental health. Whether you're looking for practical advice, personal stories, or a comforting read, there are accessible-format books in the NNELS collection: nnels.ca/relations/me...

A stack of books with an open book on top. Two pages are folded inward to form a heart shape at the center. Large blue text at the top reads “World Mental Health Day” against a light background above the books.

Book launches are better with #braille! Nathan Dueck's memoir, “(1979-): Mortifications,” published by Turnstone Press, is a hilarious collection of true-ish, cringe-worthy stories sure to entertain.

Two copies of the hardcopy braille book, (1979- ): Mortifications by Nathan Dueck. The first copy displays the title page, which includes the title, author, publication details from Turnstone Press, and notes that the book was transcribed into contracted braille in 2026. Raised braille dots are visible on both the title page and the second copy, which is open in the foreground and shows the inner braille pages.

Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. NNELS honours Survivors of residential schools, remembers children who never returned home, and recognizes the lasting impact on Indigenous communities. Accessible stories help everyone learn and reflect. Learn more here: nnels.ca/news/honouri....
