Anster Fair by William Tennant The best known work by William Tennant of Anstruther. He attended, for two years, St. Andrews where he "... in his leisure time" mastered Italian, German and Hebrew. He mentions in the Preface to this work that his use of Ottava Rima came from his reading of Boccaccio
