I shared this review with the local Marvel Champions LCG playgroup and somebody's response encapsulated both the game and public attitudes about it perfectly: "I don’t begrudge anyone their It Was A Good Blockbuster Rental game, so I am glad it is giving joy"

Now that I’ve finished it, I can say that there have been a lot of games released on PlayStation 5, and Marvel’s Wolverine is certainly one of them.

Noticing that I'm wearing through one of the keys on my keyboard. The volume dial's been iffy for a while and the battery's not lasting, but I've avoided replacing it because "It's still pretty new." But it's been 3.5 years of daily use for work AND personal (I primarily WFH), so maybe it's time?

Throw back to that time I was buying a new iPhone and while waiting for somebody to get it from the back, the Apple Store salesperson launched into "Let me show you some Apple Intelligence features" and was clearly not trained for me to shut that down with "I buy your product in spite of AI."

Just encouraging all Mac users to contact Apple and tell them it's BS that Siri and Apple intelligence can no longer be fully disabled in the latest update (OS27). Reports vary by device, but between 10G and 30G of AI garbage models downloading. I just wiped and will be staying with 26 for a while 😡

Had a bizarre dream that the guy who runs my fantasy football league secretly made us a second league called "Ligue 2" that banned real-world first-string players, and we only found out about it when we got emails that the draft started and we had to watch it autodraft guys we've never heard of.

I did end up picking up Wolverine and I'm now a hair over halfway through it. Gameplay's not bad, it's just not good either. Much like 6'2" Hugh Jackman's casting in the movies, it could definitely stand to be shorter overall. Collectible hunt really pads out the runtime.

I needed Kenneth Walker III to put up 26 points in my fantasy league in order to get a come-from-behind win, which ESPN gave just a 1% chance of happening. He has 28.9 as of that last TD, and the game's not over yet. Literally came down to the last quarter of the entire league week.

On the one hand: we really will have needed this rain. On the other hand: I had contractors out this morning to look at some water intrusion in my basement, then at his suggestion a second contractor out to quote fixing downspout issues that are like the cause, so I *could* stand to wait.

Upside: at least I’ve got tasty breakfast?

"Your call is very important to us" sure doesn't feel serious after an hour of hearing it because you're finally calling after two business weeks of complete radio silence about what should be a straightforward decision.

Been on hold for 30 minutes now because the body shop informed the roadside assistance contractor's insurance company of the last at the beginning of last week and it's been radio silence ever since.

Upside: The service manager at my local body shop knows the relevant bits of state law and when I called to ask if I was on the right track actually cut me off to say "That explains the weird phone call I just got." Turns out I'm right and he's gonna give them the what-for on my behalf.

The number of things I need to do at work on a Friday after a poor night's sleep does not match the executive function I have on a Friday after a poor night's sleep, but the things also carry enough urgency that I'm brute forcing my way through them in a way my brain *really* doesn't love.

Visited the in-laws up north for the weekend. They take vehicle inspections very seriously on the farm.

I don’t even care about college football—didn’t grow up with it and I went to a school that’s DII for everything but hockey—and I’m still gonna go to bed mad because that was some bullshit.
