Hi I'm Marl! I make tech & sound for games, and sometimes the games themselves. Worked on games like Horripilant, To The Core, stuff for Teardown, audio for animated things like Anna-Logue. 📍~Hamburg, DE | 🏳️🌈 | Any pronouns, DMs always open.

Mobygames after 4 months have finally added credits for Horripilant... And proceeded to approve the credits submitted for an outdated version of the game, despite newer ones having been submitted. And they don't let dispute the rejection of the newer ones either. Anyone know how to get that fixed?
Recorded a steel forge that makes car parts in Argentina for some awesome sounds today :)

Folks, I've been playing this on and off today, and I've got to tell you, it's probably my new favorite incremental game. The horror vibes, the music, the sound design? Sublime. Can't wait to put some more hours into it.
DAILY DEAL - Horripilant is currently 30% off on Steam! Grab it while you can! #gamedev #indiegame #godotengine #indiegamedev
Gonna start a business that reviews video games on a technological basis but also sells fish call that the Digital Floundery
Thoughts on the new Warframe update: Gameplay decent, new Waframe interesting, the new tiles look amazing and play good… … but the quest wasn‘t very good. The writing in particular felt very disjointed and characters sounded very different than they did before (esp. Hunhow) in terms of VO direction
Finding out that Neumann (of microphone fame) belongs to Sennheiser and that their microphones are developed and built in the same factory feels like uncovering the world‘s nerdiest conspiracy theory
Man if only we knew who was responsible for making the errors obscure and poorly documented, if only something could be done about that, if we just knew who was responsible-

Our game is coming to console! Also, soundtrack news soon-ish? 👀
We've just announced via our Accolades Trailer that Horripilant is coming soon to consoles! (Xbox, Playstation, Switch!) Keep an eye out on our socials and discord for a release date! #indiegame #indiegamedev #godotengine #gamedev
Every time someone on YouTube uses FPS to measure performance instead of milisecond frametime I die a little bit inside. Mostly people who don‘t normally do perf-related stuff tend to do this a lot, but especially when measuring in the hundreds of FPS it‘s practically useless :(
Feeling spherically harmonious today. might hallucinate some coefficients later

Some quick Houdini practice since I haven't used it in years, featuring a bit of crude sound design as well :D
Hardware-accelerated Raytracing is an immensely useful and powerful hardware feature whose introduction into the public eye was entirely botched.
What's something that experts/practitioners in your field universally agree upon, but that remains a "hot take" among the general public?

I don‘t disagree with the core thesis here - the "Man up" argument is terrible and GenAI in games generally sucks, but a LOT of people are missing that Ex- in the headline. The person who said this does not currently work for Blizzard. Pretending Blizzard is saying this feels disingenuous.
It's so funny to me when an entertainment company says "Man up." "Man up and accept shitty art!" "Man up and pay $100 for a game!" I...don't have to? www.pcgamer.com/games/action...
DLSS 5 in AC Shadows almost makes the rooftops here look they are snowy. Also what's up with the glowing debris pile there :O
I know everyone is posting those DLSS face comparisons around, and that is of course a huge affair, but what gets me so much about DLSS 5 is how changes the lighting of every scene into this slightly overcast thing. Like it looks like they just slapped a skylight on, all directionality is just gone
Finished horripilant by @pasgame.ca and GODDAMN IT'S SO GOOD, if you like incremental/idle/clicker games and horror stuff it's PERFECT, kinda gives me Vermis vibes Oh and the soundtrack is SO GOOD, @nolram.bsky.social did AMAZING with it, I need to buy it separately NOW
It feels like so many people enjoy difficult games so much these days that I almost feel crazy for wanting games that challenge me just enough to not be boring, but not too much to be frustrating
I'm watching old GDC editor design talks by @rystorm.com, but constantly distracted by how incredibly funky those glasses look
