I think the culture has moved on far enough that you could make candy cigarettes again. not a lot of harm surface area left there
isn't bluesky just an instantiation of the real product, "atproto" or whatever? like the way they sold it wasn't that everyone should get along in one place, it was that they were just creating infrastructure anyone could use to create some kind of community with its own standards and moderation

I don't really think this is bad for depriving some people of the chance of going to the museum, that would be the same if they just closed it. but I do think it's pretty fucked up to make the people at the museum work for F1 fans for two days

I also have a news subscription, which is arguably worse, so I had to specifically send in a written request. Took 30 days but I got approved.
the rest of the discourse this aside, it's crazy to me that even JCO has picked up the argument "you have benefited from this and therefor you owe it some kind of intellectual leeway," if anything I'd respect if she took some shots just to distance herself
