If you owe land you still don't owe the skills to grow food without irrigation & fertilizers. It doesn't mean that you can defend it and the harvest against 8.35 bn hungry mouths. When food starts running out when overpopulated, it's just all over. We should grow food because it's right.

You can't be against #fascism or against #capitalism and also be pro-violence, pro-torture, pro-slavery and pro-murder. #Vegan is not a diet and also not a lifestyle. Vegan is non-violence and non-slavery. Vegan is anti-torture and anti-murder. If we need to deny to enjoy - we can't really enjoy.

Last night during my daily evening walk along the Danube I saw one beaver and one bat. I enjoyed watching them and was grateful to see them. The side rivers are dried out and many beaver families died. I also saw thirty to forty airplanes in the night sky. www.dw.com/en/the-danub...

Charles Darwin obviously didn't believe that humans are natural killers. But we deny Charles Darwin even more than we deny Eratosthenes. 90% of animals by species and biomass do not kill to live. Wildlife documentaries are like Hollywood movies where every second car explodes. Not reality.

Both Dr. Spock and Mr. Spock were #vegan aka nonviolent. They didn't want to kill nonhumans for the same reasons they don't want to kill humans. Killing nonhumans is half of all #climate forcing - just as bad as all the coal, oil and gas that we burn. That we don't talk about makes sense.

I don't torture or kill non-human animals for exactly the same reason that I don't torture or kill human animals. If someone refrains from killing humans only because it's illegal - or kills animals because it's legal - then that person or society is sociopathic imo. Should #slavery be illegal?

Ich foltere und töte nicht-menschliche Tiere aus genau dem gleichen Grund nicht, warum ich auch keine menschlichen Tiere foltere und töte. Tötet jemand Menschen nur nicht, weil es illegal ist - oder tötet jemand Tiere, weil es legal ist - dann ist diese Person imo ein Sociopath.

I agree that the way things are going it looks much worse than the results in the paper suggest. And tbh, I question all the time the worth of continuing to do research at all anymore, what's the point when decision-makers aren't listening anyway. However, I need an income...
