European support for Spain over the Ceuta crisis emerged from an emergency meeting of EU interior ministers on Tuesday, reversing much of the criticism directed at Madrid in the previous days. Norway also backed Spain’s response and offered assistance, while ministers abandoned earlier calls to suspend the country from Schengen.
