Hobby: This juvenile showed very well this morning, often perched in trees on the west side of Reedbed Lake from which it went on hunting forays for Dragonflies. @northcavewet.bsky.social

Sightings:8th May 2026. Day 1 total of the Big Weekend Bird Count at North Cave Wetlands was 100 species. Two main highlights from Day 1 were a brief Tree Pipit and the Spoonbill, which spent a short time on Village Lake. @northcavewet.bsky.social
WOODLARKS, 2 birds showed well if a little distant with some heat haze in field at west end of Dryham Lane, North Cave Wetlands, only the second and third birds seen at the reserve, with the only previous record being a flyover bird on 19th November 2010. @northcavewet.bsky.social
