Finished Les Enfants du Paradis (Children of Paradise) this morning and it feels like I have now filled in a crucial urtext for so much cinema I’ve loved, from the work of Fellini, through Gilliam, Jeunet & Caro, Baz Luhrmann, Wes Anderson and more. I highly recommend it.
