my favourite thing about maths has always been when someone goes "i have solved this centuries old maths problem" and all the other maths people are like uh, yeah, maybe, idk, i dont understand the proof actually give me like two decades or so to figure it out
ive become really conflicted about checking on the cats when they seem to be VERY intensely interested in anything on the floor because half the time its something they found and are trying to eat that will hurt or kill them and the other half its a massive spider
where i live there are rocks in the ground EVERYWHERE from the ice age glaciers and every year when the farmers till the fields after the harvest they bring up a bunch of them that somehow despite hundreds of years of tilling only now made it to the surface so they have to collect them
sometimes i'm like "hahah no but has ww3 and the biggest financial crisis of my life already started and we are right in the shit and nothing will stop this rock rolling down this hill now" but then i remember that the planet is dying and nothing matters and that helps
you know when you randomly remember a food exists and then you want to eat nothing else for the next 8-14 business days? meet me and the love of my life

Operation fruit theft status update 1: 6:45am Walked around my village for an hour. Didn't find any mirabelle plum trees but I did find three cherry plum trees that should be ready in a couple of days

James@gravitysra1nbow.bsky.social · 2d agoI think in one sense I agree, but I think it's probably worth noting that paramilitary sub-state violence has a tendency to tilt toward escalatory non-discriminatory violence as people seek to eliminate any potential security rivals. So I think it's fair enough to call for cooler heads to prevail.

i think my mother and i just decided that next year shes moving into my attic which is not at all renovated like its wood planks and uninsulated roof tiles so uh i gotta figure out how to turn that into livable space with a kitchen and a bathroom in the next year or so...somehow
