Haley Stevens is currently running with a fake accent and a ~$50M advantage in outside money and is probably going to lose by ten seems pretty generationally bad imo but I don’t get paid for bad hot takes
we have spent more than 5x what China has spent on AI if strategically I wanted to crush a sovereign rival, convincing them to reorient their entire economy so that all growth comes from a technological dead end - or really just does not justify the investment - it would be pretty smart

Each can be true without invalidating the other.
