Everyone has put their life into their phone. Others have taken it further with their home appliances. We’ve placed all our data in the hands of tech companies openly in league with the current regime. We know their names. A “smart home” didn’t turn out to be a wise idea. I’m ok with a dumb fridge.

Just get a simple pay as you go phone. No need to travel with your personal phone. Plus, if you lose it or it gets stolen or damaged, it won’t hurt your wallet as much and you won’t lose everything that’s on your phone. I look forward to the day they bring back the rotary phone.
Protip: Drop a note in your luggage that says "medical emergency list" with a line under it that says "Phone Password." Instead of writing the real password, write the erasure password there and then keep your mouth shut. Absolute 5th amendment adherence. Say nothing, do nothing. QED.
