Nova Scotia's craft beer industry has helped put our province on the map — creating local jobs, supporting tourism, and bringing people together. On International Beer Day, let's raise a glass to the brewers, workers, and small businesses behind some of the best beer in the country. Cheers! 🍻

Today we mark Emancipation Day. We remember the end of slavery in the British Empire, honour the history of Black Nova Scotians and Black Canadians, and recognize that the work of addressing racism continues. We can never forget.

Four years ago, New Democrats elected Claudia Chender to lead our party. Since then, she's become the first women elected Leader of the Official Opposition in our province. And that’s not surprising. Everyone who knows Claudia as a leader, lawyer, and mom of three knows she gets things done.

Supporters line both sides of the room, applauding and holding orange and teal signs reading “Claudia” and “Leadership.” Chender, wearing a dark green suit and orange heels, smiles and places a hand on her chest as she greets attendees. The atmosphere is energetic and celebratory.

Nova Scotian apartments and condos are now the highest-priced on average across the country. It's not getting any easier to afford a home in our province: over the last three years, rents in Nova Scotia have gone up 22.5% while in BC, Ontario, and Alberta they've gone down 5%.

Our leader Claudia Chender lit up the room this weekend at the NSNDP 2026 Convention. The job is simple: make life better for ordinary people. And when things get hard, New Democrats don't walk away from each other.

It's clear there's a serious problem when women are waiting 17 months to get a mammogram. That's almost a year and a half of stress and delay when early detection means more lives saved and better treatment outcomes.

It's Paramedic Services Week! Paramedics are vital to our health care system, helping people in some of the most difficult moments of their lives. They work on the front lines of health care, facing difficult situations with compassion and clinical skills, and change lives every day. Thank you!
