Looking back on the last 45 years of my life, I’m glad my parents didn’t raise me to look down on things like libraries and other public institutions. Sure, some of their tastes are questionable, but they encouraged me to be open-minded and to explore my curiosity. I just wish more people agreed….

I’ve spent the last week or so going through my old comic book collection. Two long boxes and nine short boxes of near-mint single issues that are 20+ years old, all bagged and boarded. The boxes themselves haven’t been opened in close to a decade, so now I have to figure out what to do with them.

Really not sure what it says about me that I’m finally getting into emo in my mid 40s, but here we are. In my defense, almost all of the emo that was played on the radio in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s where I grew up fucking sucked, so maybe that’s why. 🤔
