Just something to watch in the long-range. This trough just off the west coast has been showing up in the ECMWF weeklies for a few days now. Now the EPS is coming into range. A lot to iron out between now and then, but this would certainly be a watch out pattern for dry lightning. #wawx #wawildfire

It's been fascinating to watch the battle between the NW winds out of the Strait of Georgia with the easterlies coming down the Fraser and Skagit valleys. One of the trickier parts of this AQ forecast. Very tight gradient between Good and Unhealthy air. #wawx #wasmoke

This is already the third highest acreage for DNR responses alone in the last decade and it’s not even August. I truly do not understand how a certain local weather blogger thinks false statements like these are helpful ahead of our most critical fire weather day of the year. #wawx #wawildfire

A lot of potential for new ignitions and rapid fire spread the next few days. The lightning threat begins WED evening through THU evening, then the winds ramp up. Go over your evacuation plan and stock up on supplies just in case. Everyone needs to practice good fire safety. #wawx #wawildfire
