Hi! @planetnude.co found that 14% of nudists started from a sexual standpoint before embracing the nonsexual nature of nudism and naturism. Some new followers have conflated nudism with sexual material, so I hope you’re here in the spirit intended. May you find liberation in delinking the two.
I thought this commercial was going to be about how body shaming leads to unhealthy body image and obsession with unrealistic standards. Nope! It sends the message that you were right to hate yourself all those years. #bodyacceptance: You can’t hate yourself into what you think is better.

Streaming sports and because it’s US political season, I’ve been subjected to misleading anti-trans ads aimed at politicians who show decency toward their fellow humans. Bigotry to win elections is pathetic. As nudists who believe in bodily autonomy, we must support &protect the trans community.
Six years ago today. When Covid got us out of the house but with no one around.
To me body positivity is accepting what is as it is and even if you want to adjust the food you eat or exercise you do, it’s not done out of self-hatred. Healthy bodies don’t have one look. Health is measured in what’s going on inside and also an attitude that doesn’t pollute with toxic thoughts.
I believe it is important to cultivate our non-nudist allies so that we can share the fullness of our lives with people we care about. Over the last few years, I’ve carefully introduced my nudist reality to certain friends who I believed would be open to it. As hoped, they’ve been supportive.

Nudism met many scheduling conflicts this summer, but gardening this weekend kicked off about 57 hours of living the way I wish I could 24/7. So good for my spirit.
When I was a kid, there were no nudist examples in my life nor did I know that there was a name for how I preferred to be. Calvin was the closest I could get to having a “role model” that didn’t care about being nude. The philosophical underpinnings also sang out to me. Hence my Bsky banner.
For 28 years, I fed my body a steady diet of toxic thoughts. Food and exercise will not be effective if we hold negative thoughts. We’ll simply torture ourselves. During that time, nothing I did was good enough. There was always more I should be doing, more judgment to cast toward the mirror.
I feel the social media algorithms have gotten more predatory since I wrote this. And while I’ve had my struggles with body image and am sensitive to the content the Inadequacy Industry shoves at us, I’m now lovingly content inhabiting a normal aging body they’ve worked so hard to get me to hate.
Beauty is a word that commoditizes the body. It takes into account a viewer’s perspective rather than placing value simply on the body’s existence. The viewer is irrelevant. It’s why I don’t say “every body is beautiful” and choose to note that all bodies are worthy of respect. #bodyacceptance
Friends say they wish they could be as free as I can be. When you’re inherently nudist, the choice is embracing authentic identity and joy or suppressing yourself and causing pain. Freedom is a choice you can make. In nudism, the more the merrier, whether it’s who you are or something you choose.
With few local connections, I’ve returned to BlueSky to reconnect with my nudist/naturist community and our allies.
