A spicy cocktail of ADD, depression, general anxiety and imposter syndrome. Rise of the Triad is the best FPS ever created. Chance of terrible gaming related puns.

So I finally managed to get a bunch of disk images and files from a Windows 98 machine onto a NAS. All it took was replacing an ethernet card (because missing drivers), manually setting the IP address (because why would DHCP work?), and an ancient Freecom network disk. 'twas truly cursed.

Let's watch a DVD. It'll be fun. Of course, this is Star Trek: Voyager we're talking so of course the disc is defective. Initially bought the series 2nd hand (those cardboard boxes containing slimcases), had multiple defective discs so I replaced it with a brand new complete series box.

Managed to get another retro PC for free. AOpen AX6LC Pentium II 300MHz 64MB SDRAM (2x 32MB) S3 Trio 3D (haven't checked the manufacturer) PCI modem card (haven't checked the manufacturer, will be removed anyway) SoundBlaster AWE 64 (unsure about the exact model, but definitely not the gold one)

Hey Amazon, why don't you fuck off with your increasingly desperate attempt to get me to sign up for Prime? Your dark pattern during the checkout phase doesn't work, so why do you think plastering what is essentially a pop-up all over your page whenever I visit will do the trick?

Couldn't sleep, therefore movie. "Ghost dog: The way of the samurai" is really, really good. It's been some time since I last watched it so I had forgotten most of it, so it was nice to get reacquainted. Watch it, if only for the interactions between Ghost Dog and the ice cream vendor. IYKYK.

To all my friends, enemies, and people I don't even remember - the latest major update to Windows 11 just came out. So if you wonder why the borkage is extra borked*, well, now you know. * I'm assuming borkage, because, well, [broadly gestures at everything at Microsoft has done lately].

Watched "From a whisper to a scream", a 1980s horror anthology movie. Vincent Price was the narrator, and that's the only good thing. Out of 4 segments only 1 was decent, 1 was okay at best, and the other 2 gory/nasty for the sake of being gory and nasty. Verdict: watch something else instead.

Couldn't sleep, so movie time it was. Mortal kombat II was okay, lifted above mediocrity by Karl Urban. Sadly the rest was a bit forgettable imho. Coyote vs ACME, glad this ended up being released in the end, a fun movie and even a smidge heartwarming. 1/2
