Just a small-town gal trying to make her way through this bat-crap crazy world

Being that Lowell has turned more to the east when making its right turn overnight, Oahu, Kauai, and Ni’ihaue will have a bigger impact, if not a direct hit from Lowell.

A president cannot unilaterally rename a U.S. state; a state’s name is part of its constitution, and changing it would require voter approval. Unlike federal place names like lakes (which may be updated through executive action), a state name change isn’t something a president can do by themselves.

It hasn’t really been raining all that much in my area of Kaumana, Hilo, Hawaii but I can hear the stream (the leads and connects to Wailuku River) behind our property raging. So, it must have rained fairly heavy farther up the mountain (Mauna Kea).

I am not posting anything about 9/11. Not even Trump spewing his lies that he went to ground zero and helped clear some of the debris. I was there when it happened. I watched desperate people jump from the windows of the towers. I watched the towers fall.

Because I bitched about my Sister and her boyfriend decorating for Christmas when it is only September 6th, I was given a dancing ghost 👻

Saw some posts of people criticizing Kauai mayor, Derek Kawakami for going on various social media platforms to update the people of Kauai and Ni’ihaue on hurricane Lowell. Because he is running for Lt. Governor. Hawaii County mayor, Dr. Kimo Alameda, did the exact same thing.

If power or communications are disrupted, here are some things that can help to communicate and get information. Have a radio for updates, keep a whistle or mirror to signal for help, have paper copies of contacts in emergency kits and text instead of calling when networks are clogged.

I remember my dad telling me about a tornado hitting Kailua-Kona in the early 1970s. Started out as a waterspout then made landfall and became a tornado. Happened before I was born.

Great…Because of El Niño and Lowell, western counties of all Hawaii islands are under a possible tornado threat. A RARE tornado threat is likely to develop across the western Hawaii tomorrow, as Hurricane Lowell makes its closest approach.

My Sister and her boyfriend have begun rearranging and preparing to decorate for Christmas. *Checks calendar* It’s September 6th. 🎃🧙‍♀️👻

Maybe it’s just me, that isn’t a toupee on Trump’s head. That’s a weave. A toupee would blow off Trump’s head with the slightest wind. Especially when he is getting on and off Airforce 1 and Marine 1.

Republicans, MAGA, and those who chose to not vote or voted 3rd party or the likes of Jill Stein will be screaming “I didn’t vote for this!” Yes, you did! This is exactly what you voted for. You just didn’t think you would be personally affected.

Ventured a little further than I did the other day. Not too far or for very long. Checked out my Sister’s little garden and her garden witches. Was nice, then my body screamed, “go sit down!” So, I went back into the garage, out of the sun and sat down. Baby steps. 🥳
