i like hugbox actually i think not being forced algorithmically to interact with people you hate (or hate you) is awesome forums and imageboard threads were the best when they were hugbox, the internet was a bunch of hugbox until major social media companies decided to implement The Algorithm™
also my random opinion that will get me blocked idk: higurashi is a nimby propaganda that is complicit in the decline of japan's industrial infrastructure which then contributed to the rise of reactionary politics
maybe we need the inverse of internet archive we need to print all books, media, papers, thesis, and other written works that are now digital only and store them somewhere
x (formerly twitter) should be actively destroyed and its data wiped out we cant just wait it to collapse on its own
I know the obvious answer but how do you genuinely do research on what contents made when by who when its short-form videos like Tiktok and Shorts? Like with longer regular videos we can search them (mostly) and trace them like they are citation papers but how do you do that with Tiktok
i genuinely dont know 99% of current media discourse, having isolated myself with very clean heavily filtered timeline with basically just fanarts everywhere its good for my mental health i guess but it also makes me feel lonely, idk how to make new friends anymore on the net
