You know so far I've had 3 books come out, and I've had dozens of reviews published, and I've even been lucky enough to have received some really thoughtful reviews of my books...but I think this is the first time I've ever seen a review of my work IN a book.

Come on out this Saturday August 1 from 2-4pm EST to the Leamington Public Library where MA|DE's own Mark Laliberte will be a featured reader alongside Melissa Powless Day! Hosted by Souwesto Poetry Review!

Things I'd identify as priorities include: environmental protection & climate crisis mitigation, more renewable energy/fewer fossil fuels, finally ending water advisories on reserves, affordable housing, fairer migrant rights, robust arts granting & strong legislative guardrails on AI. YMMV.

If you want to weigh in on the Canadian government's imminent priorities, there's a survey currently open: action.liberal.ca/summer-sound...

From the study: "The majority (97.1%) of adolescents continued to identify with a gender not typically aligned with their birth sex. Only 2.9% reverted to a gender identity aligned with their birth sex. None who initially identified as non-binary returned to binary gender aligned with birth sex."

A group of Canadian researchers found that 97 percent of youth who seek treatment for gender dysphoria still identify as trans years later

💀📓I am so excited to finally announce that my second full-length book of poetry book will be out THIS HALLOWEEN! "THE WORK IS DONE WHEN WE ARE DEAD, Jade Wallace’s sophomore poetry collection, considers work in all its many forms...

Was quite surprised & delighted to find that my poem "We Go Down to the Sea of Myrrh," which opens with the ever so endearing line, "Molly, I hate your husband" (& which appeared in @cv2magazine.bsky.social), will be in Best Canadian Poetry 2027. Many thanks to @tolu.ca, Anita Lahey & Biblioasis.
